Psa do what you want but keep that in mind
We have come to realize that AI dependency is a growing problem, which is why it probably doesn't have a place in the institution that supposedly teaches kids how to think. This isn't to say that schools should be fully AI-negative; in fact, it is wise for students to be taught about what its most appropriate uses are, and how and when it should be challenged.
A teacher was so disappointed in her colleagues that she felt the need to expose them for their AI use, mentioning that their students noticed it and didn't approve. She claimed that she was praised for her own ‘homemade’ worksheets in comparison, and told her fellow educators that she didn't believe that AI-generated materials had a place in teaching.
The issue isn't just that it is lazy, but also that it might not actually be useful for helping students to learn. It seemed like schools had enough problems with that before artificial intelligence came along, and this may actually be making an existing problem into something even worse.
There is often a double standard going on.
It wasn't the most attractive advertising for an educational establishment.
The students picked up on the hypocrisy and were angry about it.
Not using AI can now distinguish some teachers.
The schools were not being slick.
They were not practicing what they preached.
They were still educators who protested against the use of AI.
